When four of us got to Cloud Villa for a vegetarian lunch after touring the Chung Tai Chan Monastery the woman who greeted us said the restaurant was out of multiple items that day. At first we were disappointed but when the food we ordered was brought out we were astounded at the freshness and the piquancy of each dish. If these were the "leftover" foods they were better than some restaurants at their peaks so this was definitely a high point for our Taiwan visit.
