This stall previously the old lady charge reasonable but when after the man(not sure if her son) take over became unreasonable & expensive. Sometimes anyhow charged. 2 vegi 1 chicken u eating there $5, but take away he charge $6.plus. Not common practice, the most take away with a plastic ball shld be adding 0.20 the most 0.50. Anyhow charged is really not nice. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: $1–10 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Wanted to get some dishes without rice for lunch but was turned away because they don’t sell their dishes without buying their rice or porridge. Imagine choosing to not earn 5-8 dollars from dishes because the customer does not want to have rice or porridge which costs Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Are U Hungry ? One of my all-timed Old School favourite : Teochew Porridge Stall : CUISINE TEOCHEW PORRIDGE RICE (美食潮洲粥,飯) #01-53 @ 90, Whampoa Food Centre. Whampoa Drive. Being the 1st customer always made my day ! Indeed, as I was browsing the stalls and contemplating what to dine-in; suddenly this stall was lighted, right in front of me) and without any hesitation, I re-confirmed w/ Senior Aunty she grinned to smile and nodded a Yes ! Ordered my favourite ala-carte dishes for single pax w/ 2 bowls of plain porridge dipped with braised gravy + 4 dishes @ $6.50; DIY it’s garlic chillies ️ What’s so good ? 1. Authentically Teochew, confirmed and chopped w/ the Teochew dialect accent 2. Yummy dishes, most of not all, single handedly cooked by her alone 3. Old School taste confirmed just from the Cai Poh Omelette , Fried Tau Gek, Minced meat w/ black beans + Fried Cabbage delightfully flavourfully 4. It’s plain porridge X 2 shall last me at least couple of hours b4 tea break kicks in ! Always respecting and honouring our Seniors’ Hawkers whom had contributed very much in our Hawkers’ Culture of diversity taste and authenticity + yummy-ness !
