This place has no business not selling out every pastry each morning. Was surprised by the amount of variety. The scones were dense and unique and not too sweet. The salt bread was on point. I tried the one with mochi in it and it came out warm and perfectly chewy. Give this man his flowers. Ill be back soon. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It’s a little bakery is run by a young and kind couple. The product have high quality and wonderful taste. They were polite helping me to choose the pastry. I can recommend the sweet “bread” with black olives. It was amazing Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I discovered Dalamdang while waiting for an eye appointment nearby, and it turned out to be one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to. I’m not usually a fan of salt bread and am currently on a no-carb diet, but I came for my mom who is always on thr hunt for good bakeries. I got the squid ink cheese salt bread thinking I’d just take one bite but ended up eating the whole thing because it was that good. We loved it so much, I bought more as gifts for people who’ve been helping us through the real estate process. We ended up going every single day during our stay in Daejeon — that’s how much we loved this place. We even came back later the same day to try the scones, which were moist and delicious (not dry like the ones I’ve had in the U.S.). The Dutch coffee was also very smooth and delicious. I brought home one of each on a 4-hour flight, and we enjoyed every single one. I ate the bagels the next day and they were still just as good. All the salt breads were amazinggg, but my personal favorites were the squid ink with cheese and the pollock roe with cheese. Maybe I’m biased I just really love cheese. I tried my first tigre with dark chocolate ganache and it was amazinggg, with the perfect balance of sweetness. The owners are genuinely kind and attentive, and that made the experience even more special. I truly believe that no matter how good a place is, if the service isn’t good, it’s not memorable — but Dalamdang has both. The interior is cozy, with nostalgic Christmas vibes and touches of classic anime and American films. It’s a small spot tucked in an alley just steps from the Galleria — easy to miss, but absolutely worth finding. With so many places constantly closing or moving in Korea, I really hope this place lasts. My mom is moving to the area soon, and we already know we’ll be regulars here!
