I would have given this place a better rating. I had been there before with my friend who is native Korean. However, when i wanted to take a friend who wasn't korean (neither am I), he said we couldn't sit. Ok, maybe he has reservation for customers or he wasn't ready to accept customers at 6 pm...it happens. So we go back the week after. This time, he tells us it's only for Koreans. Now, this is Cheonan, not Seoul. Cheonan is generally more friendly and sincere and has no history of bad experiences with foreigners (most of us are boring good teachers). So we could only surmise he just didn't want us there. He was rude and didn't offer an apology. We left. I told my Korean friend, and she was adamant that we had to head there and confront him. She spoke to him in a respectful way, and he tried to ask her if she trusted what i was saying - she was appalled, and told him we were very good friends and we were also teachers. He seemed to get a little embarrassed by her calling him out, and she told him it was a shame because i had been there before and liked it and wanted to share the experience with another friend. He offered an insincere apology, but we walked away, and it's really tainted my experience living here. How can you, a KOREAN man operating a JAPANESE style bar, be so discriminating????
