I ordered chilli ban mian takeaway. When I reached home, I realised the ban mian didnt have chilli seasoning at all. The ban mian is just boiled with the vegetarian ikan bilis and the soup. It is so bland. Did the staff forgot to add the chilli seasoning? Also the only reason why it is slightly red is because I added my own chilli sauce at home to make it actually have flavour (i forgot to take photo before I put the chilli sauce). Been a frequent customer to dlife already, quite disheartened to get such food, previously the pickups all is good, just today's one.... Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–10 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Update (March 2026): Re-visited with friends today and D’life continues to impress with their consistency! We explored more of the menu and found some new favorites: Nasi Lemak: Surprisingly good for a vegetarian version. The sambal was above par, the peanuts were perfectly crunchy, and even the mock "anchovies" had a great texture. Hericium Satay ($8): These are a must-try. The fried hericium (monkey head mushroom) had a wonderful bite and paired perfectly with the savory peanut sauce. Mutton Curry ($10): Another pleasant surprise! The curry gravy was thick and flavourful, The "mutton" (mushroom) was chewy but not tough, and the portion was very generous for the price. D’life remains a dependable, high-value spot for hearty vegetarian "zi char" and local favorites. Previous review: Had a very pleasant and satisfying meal at the D'life branch along Chun Tin Road. The restaurant offers a wide variety of local and zi char style vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices, making it a great spot for a casual meal. We tried a few of their popular items: Roasted "Chicken" Rice: A solid rendition of the local classic. The "chicken," made of crispy beancurd skin, had a lovely texture, and the rice was fragrant and well-cooked. It came with a standard clear soup and chilli sauce. Claypot "Chicken" Cube Rice: This was served hot and sizzling. The rice was nicely infused with the savoury dark sauce, and the mock chicken cubes, mushrooms, and vegetables made it a wholesome one-pot meal. Sweet & Sour Abalone Mushroom: The fried abalone mushrooms were the star here. They were crispy on the outside with a satisfyingly meaty bite, and coated in a well-balanced sweet and sour sauce that wasn't overly cloying. Olive Fried Rice: A simple but well-executed dish. The rice had a nice fluffy texture and the distinct, savoury flavour of olive vegetables, with good 'wok hei'. The papadum on top added a welcome crunch. Yuan Yang: The hot Yuan Yang was served in a classic kopitiam cup and had a comforting, balanced flavour of coffee and tea. Overall, while no single dish was mind-blowingly spectacular, everything was well-prepared, tasty, and offered great value. D'life is a dependable go-to for anyone looking for a hearty and affordable vegetarian meal. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
