The Rating: I gave Doppio 5 stars because, on the heels of a poor shopping experience at Marks & Spencer’s, my visit here lifted my spirits. The Beverage: I ordered a cappuccino, medium roast. The barista delivered a well balanced cup topped with a latte art swan. Doppio is a kiosk espresso bar in a busy mall. I was not expecting that brand of speciality café style product. The Service: Their service was excellent. I began by inquiring about the beans they had on sale. I was greeted by a team member who spoke English well and reviewed their selection with me. I decided to go with the natural process Ethiopian. Finally, even behind the face masks, I could see their smiles, a welcome contagion. Just an idea not a critique: It would be nice if Doppio would offer pour-over options since they have beans spanning light to dark roasts and a wide variety of flavour profiles on offer. Customers would be able to sample a particular bean before purchase. Having made that note, I appreciate that Doppio have likely created a business model that best suits this location.
