The listing is out of date and the menu on Google is now quite different to the menu there. We didn't eat so can't comment on the food, but the menu now is a fairly classic Hakuba pub menu (burgers, some salads). Was disappointing as the old menu and photos of the food looked so good and was why we went.

Hi Tom, we have tried to remove old photos and are unable to. We have uploaded new photos from this year to show our food. Last years menu, while very good, was not sustainable for a seasonally operated hotel. We also are now operating under new ownership so are repositioning our product to fit the needs to guests here. We now offer an approachable modern gastro pub style menu comprising local hunted game meats, and shinshu produce that appeals more to our guests, nearby lodges, and families. Sorry that we did not meet your expectations, but please appreciate our business decision as we reposition the venue. We are confident that our deer & wagyu beef burger is the best in Hakuba! Please feel free to drop by again next time if you are looking for a more causal dining experience and enjoy your stay in Hakuba,

The staffs were super kind and the food is perfect, especially when you get this amount of choices. Definitely recommended if you come to Hakuba and Happo-One. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
