This café is still extremely popular — even on a Sunday midday, you’ll likely wait about 15 minutes for a table. The seating is generally comfortable and they use QR code ordering, which is very convenient. Ordered: • Slow-cooked sirloin beef with onsen egg tea-soaked rice bowl ($148)
Portion is generous, presentation is nice, and quality is solid. The beef is tender, the onsen egg is runny, and the tea rice base is well balanced — very satisfying overall. • Black truffle mixed mushroom pull-apart cheesy toast box ($65)
Smaller than expected, but the toast is toasted crisp, the truffle & mushroom flavour comes through clearly, and it tastes good. Drinks: • Orange Black ($46) • Iced Americano ($35, requested less ice)
Even with less ice, there was still quite a lot of ice. Taste is normal; Orange Black is more refreshing. Overall: food quality is consistent, environment is comfortable and suitable for dates or casual catch-ups with friends, prices are reasonable. Definitely worth returning to try other items next time! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: HK$150–200

After a day of exploring the nearby heritage trail on a hot day, E for Egg (Tai Wai) proved to be the perfect retreat to cool down and refresh. Their specialty drinks did not disappoint and truly hit the spot. We ordered the pistachio tofu matcha and espresso egg coffee, both of which were deliciously unique and beautifully crafted. The flavors were well-balanced, offering a refreshing twist that was both satisfying and invigorating. The ambience of the cafe was inviting, creating a relaxed and comfortable environment to unwind. Service was attentive; the staff was prompt and courteous, ensuring our water glasses were consistently refilled without needing to ask. Overall, E for Egg delivered a memorable and enjoyable experience with standout drinks and excellent service.
