We had high expectations having read many of the previous reviews. However the reality was some what disappointing. By far and away the major issue are the regular power cuts. These happen predominantly at night and occur approximately every ten minutes throughout the night. The power switches off and then back on usually after 10-15 seconds. This might not sound too much an issue, but it completely disrupts sleep as the air conditioning clicks on and off and if you are having to use the fan (as the a/c is not great) the constant on off noise is further amplified. This issue has been noted many times previously (check previous Google reviews) and the usual reply is: this is unusual, the island experiences this or you are in a villa a long way from the supply. We checked and could not discover any other parts of the island experiencing this issue. To add to this 3 out of the 6 nights, night club music was heard that went on from around 10.00 to sunrise. If this is disputed by the owner of Ecotao Lodge please take my word: it happened! So why have I not scored lower, the reason is Paula, who was a great host throughout and I hope she is paid well by the owners. Let me add one extra point. This is my review as we experienced the hotel. Certain people in another review saw things a different way. However please do not say we exagerate and make light of the experience we encountered. The whole point of this type of review is that they are how independent individuals see things. Please respect your fellow reviewer!

We stayed at Ecotao from Saturday 21st to Monday 23rd of March 2026. Such a lovely place from the start to the end. During our stay, our hostess Nat made it memorable and convenient. Almost felt like home. Thank you so much for your welcoming and hospitality. By the way, the rooms, the sea views from it, the breakfast (banana pancakes) —> just impeccable. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing and respectful place, you definitely must go there. Service: 5

One of the best sea-side accommodations ever, not just in Thailand. We stayed for almost two weeks and everything was perfect, from the comfortable and clean rooms to the pool and the amazing restaurant. Our host, Natalia, was very attentive, gave us useful tips and was always available for any kind of enquiries. Also the rest of the staff is super friendly and professional. Breakfast is very diverse and truly delicious, and so is everything from the restaurant menu, so we decided to dine-in almost every day there. We chose not to rent a scooter as we don't really have experience driving one, but it worked out just fine by taxi + the shuttle provided for free once per day. All in all, every accommodation should be like this. Thanks for the great stay! Service: 5
