I can’t say this enough, Benny and his staff are brilliant people! Thank you for your amazing hospitality, helped us when needed it the most. Don’t believe when they say they are pool champions, 6-2 currently to me! Jokes aside, good food, friendly staff and very easy going so can’t ask for any more Service: 5

As someone who travels constantly, I rarely stay in one place long enough to build genuine rapport with restaurant or bar staff — which is something I truly value but don’t often get the chance to experience. My visit to The Elephant Bar in Phuket was a rare and welcome exception, and that’s entirely because of the people behind the bar — especially Annie. From the moment I arrived, Annie delivered what is easily some of the best service I’ve experienced anywhere in Asia. She was warm, personable, and genuinely engaging, with an excellent command of English and a natural sense of humour that made the whole experience feel effortless rather than transactional. What really stood out was her authenticity. This wasn’t scripted hospitality. Annie was attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced, and genuinely interested in making sure guests were having a great time. She even shared local Phuket tips and insights into other destinations across Asia — something you rarely get on a first visit, and something seasoned travellers genuinely appreciate. The wider team also deserves recognition. Nam manager extroidinaire with the bubbliest personality I’ve ever come across from the Manager and Chef Mr A were fantastic, creating a relaxed, professional atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and stay longer than planned. And then there’s Eane, guardian of what might be the most iconic drinks bell in Phuket. This isn’t just any bell — it looks like it was salvaged straight off the Titanic. When that bell gets rung, you know exactly what’s happening: the party officially starts. It’s equal parts theatre, fun, and “you probably shouldn’t leave just yet.” To come across a team of this calibre on a first visit is rare. Annie, Nam, Chief Mr A, and Eane are genuine assets to The Elephant Bar, and the reason a simple drink can turn into a genuinely memorable night. Highly recommended — and if you hear that bell ring, don’t say you weren’t warned. Service: 5
