Essence restaurant, unfortunately, falls short across the board, regardless of whether it's a weekday lunch, a holiday, or a Sunday (we've tried all just to compare). While the pricing is budget-friendly, one might expect at least a basic standard of quality, but what you get is a menu that feels both limited and disjointed. On Sundays, typically a highlight for dining out, the offerings are surprisingly lackluster. Instead of a cohesive theme, you're met with an odd assortment that includes Chinese fried rice, tripe, and rice rolls—none of which seem to harmonize with each other. This mismatch is disheartening, especially when one anticipates a more curated experience on a weekend. The dim sum, which should be a standout, is a letdown. It ranges from overly salty to what appears to be mass-produced frozen siu mai, lacking the freshness and care that one hopes for in this type of cuisine. Desserts, often an afterthought in many establishments, are also disappointing, failing to leave a positive impression. The limited options and questionable quality of the food make it difficult to recommend, even for those looking for a low-cost meal.
