The ideal place to kick off any trip to Goje Island (거제도); perfectly placed at the bottom of the valley overlooking scenic Moon-dong (문동) reservoir, “ever amuse” offers one of the best city escapes in Korea’s southern province of Gyeongsang-nam do. Converted four years ago from an existing local restaurant, the open planned concept cafe has largely remained untouched since opening in 2017. Designed with minimum clutter and an abundance of sunlight in mind, the space feels significantly larger than it initially appears from the outside. In between the natural light, flooding in from floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, sit carefully curated stacks of interior magazines, retro ceramics and artwork prints by the likes of David Hockney. All coffees are served using their own brand of OEM roasted beans, served on a classic La Marzocco machine. At the time of visiting there was no option for filter coffee with the main focus on brunch and espresso based drinks.
