Fat Saigon Boy catered a private party at our home and we were absolutely delighted with the incredible food and amazing service from their team. They accommodated our specific dietary requirements easily and built a creative and cool menu to suit the vibe of our party. I finally tried a Vietnamese casual spot I’d saved for a while, located in Science Park. It’s tucked right under an office building so it’s easy to miss, but it gets pretty crowded at lunch on weekdays. The three of us ordered different mains—Pho, a Rice/Noodle Bowl, and a Salad Bowl—and all of them were solid. The pho broth is on the lighter, slightly sweet side, and the portion is huge. It comes with wide rice noodles and a generous amount of beef, plus meatballs and other toppings. Adding a bit of fish sauce really boosts the flavor, and it’s served with bean sprouts and small calamansi limes on the side—nice touch. I had the Salad Bowl (Torched Ginger Lime Salmon). The salmon was tasty, and the salad was refreshing and not greasy at all. I also added a baguette—lightly toasted, crispy outside and soft inside—which was a great add-on. I didn’t get to try my friend’s noodle bowl, but she said the pork was good too. Overall, the food was enjoyable. The only downside is that service can lag a bit during the lunch rush, but that’s understandable. A good option if you want a light, fuss-free Vietnamese lunch around Science Park.
