This cozy little hideout sits on the second floor in busy Shimo-Kitazawa, offering a rare pocket of calm and some seriously legit Italian food. The owner is warm, friendly, and passionate in getting every detail right, from the spotless tables to the perfect plating. I went for the Wagyu tagliatelle and was not disappointed. The pasta was perfectly chewy, the beef rich enough to make me reconsider my life choices. The chef once lived in Florence “for the culture” (translation: for the food and wine), he recommended classic Italian wines that paired beautifully. If you want Italy without leaving Tokyo, make sure you try this spot. Join me in the Favorita da Veronica pasta fan club.
