UPDATE (4 Nov 2025): I'm happy to report that my amazing first visit wasn't a fluke! I returned to Flourful Delight to explore more of the menu and was just as impressed. This time, I ordered the Zha Jiang Noodles (炸酱面) and the Pan-fried Dumplings (锅贴). Both were of a very high standard, just like the Dan Dan Noodles. The Zha Jiang Noodles had that same fantastic al dente, chewy noodle texture. The black bean meat sauce was deeply savoury and rich, but not overly salty, and was perfectly balanced by the fresh, crunchy shredded cucumber and carrot. The Pan-fried Dumplings were also excellent. They were fried with a beautiful, crispy, lacy "skirt" on the bottom, while the skin on top was tender. The filling inside was juicy and well-seasoned. This stall is just consistently brilliant. It confirms my opinion that this is one of the top spots for high-quality, authentic Chinese noodles and dumplings. Still highly recommended! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Decided to try Flourful Delight and ordered two quintessential dishes: the Xiao Long Bao ($6.90) and the Dan Dan Noodles (担担面, $5.50). While one was good, the other was truly exceptional. The Xiao Long Bao were a solid effort and competently met all the crucial requirements. The skin struck that difficult balance – delicate and thin, yet impressively resilient, holding the savoury broth and pork filling without any frustrating tears. They were good, satisfying dumplings, though perhaps not spectacular. However, the Dan Dan Noodles were the undisputed star of the meal and, frankly, a revelation. This was easily one of the best versions I've had in Singapore. The magic was in the sauce – a perfect harmony of creamy peanut, aromatic chilli oil, and a sharp, uplifting tang from the vinegar. Nothing overpowered anything else. The noodles themselves were cooked to a perfect al dente, providing a firm, satisfying chew that held up beautifully to the rich sauce. Every mouthful was a delight. While the Xiao Long Bao are a perfectly reliable and enjoyable choice, the Dan Dan Noodles are the absolute must-try here.
