Dear Anson Ng, Thank you for visiting Grillotte with your companion on 15 March 2026 and for taking the time to share your feedback. As your comments requested management’s attention, we conducted an internal review of our operations and spoke with our kitchen team. We would like to share our findings with you. According to our records, you ordered a Double Beef Double Cheese Burger at $14.80 nett(no service charge and no GST) at our counter for sharing. Each of our handmade pure beef patty weighs 100 to 110gm. Your burger therefore contained a total of approximately 200 to 220gm of beef patties, together with 2 slices of Italian cheese, fresh greens, tomatoes and our homemade burger sauce, served in a bun. The meal was accompanied by our complimentary 200gm serving of fries -which on our menu itself costs $4.80. We believe this represents good value and is sufficient for two diners to share comfortably as you did. Your order was placed at 5.10pm and the burger was served at 5.23pm. As our burgers are freshly prepared, preparation time of under 15 minutes is considered a reasonable service time. At the ordering counter, you chose not to order beverages. However, we observed that an outside bottle of soft drink was brought into the restaurant and shared between the two of you. As part of our dining policy and in strict compliance with Singapore Food Agency hygiene requirements, outside food and drinks are not permitted in the restaurant. During your visit, no feedback regarding the food was raised with our chef or staff. We noted that both of you were happily enjoying the shared meal till the plates were finished. Regarding the matter you mentioned about the washroom, it was unfortunate that flying ants were swarming around the toilet light at that time. Such phenomenon occasionally occurs in Singapore households due to weather changes. While switching off the light would help disperse them, we are unable to do so when guests are using the washroom. Nevertheless, many of the flying ants had been caught in the glue boxes laid out by our pest control specialists earlier. We have in place a strict pest-control programme with monthly servicing, as well as additional ad-hoc treatments whenever necessary. Just to put it right for the record. As in any HDB structural arrangements, toilet accessibility is way to the back of the unit and its door is facing away from our kitchen. We hope this explanation provides some perspective on the situation. We respectfully seek your understanding regarding our policy on outside food and drinks not allowed in our restaurant. We do not use canned mushrooms as we believe fresh ingredients provide a more wholesome taste. We apologise that the soup tasted saltier than your expectation. If this had been brought to our attention during your visit, our chefs would have gladly replaced it immediately.
