I recently visited Gali for dinner with my parents, and the experience was quite interesting. Located inside an industrial building, the restaurant has a somewhat hidden, local “insider” feel. Throughout the evening, there was a constant flow of delivery riders picking up orders, which suggests the place is quite popular, especially for takeaway. The setup is relatively compact, with a private dining room that can accommodate around 10 guests, alongside a main dining area that seats approximately 30. It feels casual and functional rather than overly polished, but still comfortable enough for a relaxed meal. As for the food, it was decent and served very quickly—most dishes arrived within five minutes, except for the deep-fried items. While the speed is impressive, it did give the impression that some dishes may have been pre-prepared and reheated. That said, everything was served piping hot, and the flavours were satisfactory. One point that stood out operationally was that I noticed some guests asking for the washroom and being directed through the kitchen area, which felt unusual and slightly concerning from a hygiene and guest experience perspective. In terms of value, the pricing is quite reasonable, with starters around HK$45 and main courses about HK$80. Given this price point, the overall experience is fair, and there’s little to strongly criticise if expectations are set accordingly. It’s a practical option for a casual Indian meal, particularly if you’re looking for convenience and value rather than a refined dining experience.
