Fully vegan food is very hard to find in Korea, so this restaurant was a great experience to actually try a variety of korean style food. The food itself is very unique and is focused on health, and you get around 10-20 dishes which leaves you feeling very satisfied. We accidentally came while they were having a break but the staff graciously let us dine here as we travelled a long distance which was very kind of them. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₩20,000–30,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Everything is vegan, including kimchi

Sukkyong Shin of Cooking Jeonju introduced me to another hidden gem in Jeonju: 감로헌 Gamloheon.This restaurant is run by Ms. Cho who, after being in banking for many years, felt the call to provide Jeonju with access to medicinal cooking "before it was cool." Even now, medicinal food is rare in Jeonju, while flourishing in more trendy areas of Seoul. While "medicinal" may not sound appetizing, this is simply a way to show that food can support our bodies in the same way medicine can. And, frankly, it was some of the most delicious food I've had in the city.This mostly vegetarian meal is comprised of seaweed and soybean soup, yellow rice, and a beautiful display of banchan (반찬). At only 10,00 won, the meal is an outstanding display of the local abundance as Ms. Cho using many ingredients from her own farm located outside the city limits. While the banchan and soup were vegetarian, the set also comes with a side dish of beef. In addition to the food, we were served a medicinal tea at the start of the meal made only by Ms. Cho and a citron after the meal.I strongly suggest anyone who visits Jeonju make a visit to this special restaurant!
