My third time at Gingerbread House, and honestly, the previous visits were fine—a bit dated but clean, and the staff (pretty sure she's the owner) was lovely. But this time? Totally different. The lady who greeted us was just plain rude. She was on us the second we got out of the car, demanding the booking name. Our friend who booked was literally right behind us, parking, and we even told her so, but she kept up her constant, unfriendly questions. It made us so stressed we blurted out a nickname (we didn't know her full name!). Her response? "If you can't give me the name then I can't help you." Why couldn't she just wait a few seconds? After checking in, we started hauling our own luggage to the room—no one offered to help, by the way. The same lady stopped us, asking "Where are you guys going?" like we were in trouble. Turns out she needed our room number (didn't she just check us in?!) to make us move two of our three cars to another lot. So, one of us had to unload bags and move the car. And only then did she yell at her staff to get our luggage (some of us were already done moving). Less than 15 minutes later she interrupted our meal, bugging us about the last car, then went straight to our friend (who was literally on his way back to the car) to tell him to move it. These terrible first impressions totally ruined it. We started noticing every little flaw, like cleanliness, food quality, dog pool which was too slippery; I saw so many pups, including my own, constantly slipping around. And to top it off, after the complimentary bath and dry service, some of our dogs weren't fully dry! These are things we'd normally just brush off if the service had been good. For a place so highly praised in the dog community, this was a huge letdown. Honestly, that lady needs to be fired or learn how to treat people, or she'll run this place into the ground. Service: 1
