What a pleasant surprise! Nestled inside the old, traditional Ichondong Market, this is one of the few diamonds in the rough. The place is quite small (4-5 tables), old, and even has a run-down look. Mismatched posters, signs, and photos line the walls. Funky balance of old and new lamps hang from the ceiling, giving a mix of warmth and modern cool factor. The menu is quite simple. There are only 7 dishes, 3 of which are "main" and the remaining 4 are "sides". You have order either 1 main or 2 of the sides. There are no rice dishes, so if you're looking for a meal complimented with rice, you won't find it here. However, there is an extensive list of mokgulli (white Korean rice wine which is a MUST) and local beer. The owner - an outspoken older lady - is a blast. She is funny and engaging. Service is prompt and cordial, but this is probably due to the small size of the place. Finally, the food (we only had the yookjeon, which is thinly sliced beef, dipped in flour and egg batter and fried) was very good. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
