I ordered the Hokkien mee for the 3rd time in 2 weeks.. The stock they used to cook is so tasty, with so much umami. The prawns,are big and very fresh! And the chilli... so good I'm speechless. I always order more chilli, and even my Thai friends say the chilli is incredible. I recommend my colleagues as one of them is half Singaporean. Made the drive all the way from Bangsaen just for this and honestly worth every kilometre. Huge shoutout to กุ้งแซ่บ Goong Zaap — their Hokkien Mee is shockingly close to what you actually get in Singapore. The wok hei, the prawn flavour soaked into the noodles, and that slightly wet, rich style super nostalgic. But the real MVP is the belacan chilli. Spicy, fragrant, got depth, and somehow makes every bite even better. No joke — I personally think this beats quite a number of bigger, more famous restaurants in Bangkok serving Hokkien Mee. If you’re Singaporean, or just someone who misses authentic Singapore-style Hokkien Mee, this one deserves a visit. Will definitely drive from Bangsaen again just for this plate.
