Delicious whiskey is served at this bar. The hospitable staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Terrific service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of Grotte wine&whisky. From the guests' viewpoint, the atmosphere is comfortable.

We stumbled upon this basement wine/whiskey bar in Yeonnam and had an absolutely wonderful time. The owner David speaks great English and is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about his drinks. Ask him his favorite whiskey and it’s like asking him to pick his favorite child, but he will give you some good recommendations. It’s a cozy spot with good indie Korean vibes. We met a regular and ended up trying his whiskey recommendations, in addition to our wines by the glass, and had great conversation. This is the definition of a hidden gem in heart of Seoul. Off the chaotic beaten path of Hongdae but also walkable to it. Grotte is an escape from the hustle and bustle to wind down at the end of a long day. I highly recommend and would love to visit David next time I’m in town. Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Dave is a really nice host. He taught us a lot of whisky knowledge and let us smell different kinds of whisky. He is really patient and recommend whisky based on your preference. The atmosphere is pretty chill and I really like this place! Will definitely visit again! Price per person: ₩80,000–90,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
