We were so happy to discover Gyeokk, a charming wine dining bar tucked away in Chungmuro. I visited with my foreign boyfriend, and the entire experience felt warm, thoughtful, and memorable. The menu isn’t large, but that’s exactly what makes it special. Each dish comes with a story shared by the chef-owner, and hearing those stories before tasting the food added so much depth to the meal. Every plate felt intentional and personal, not just well executed. What stood out most was the genuine care given to international guests. The chef-owner took his time to thoughtfully explain each dish, its ingredients, and the inspiration behind it, making the experience comfortable and engaging throughout our visit. His passion and sincerity came through clearly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The wine list is also beautifully curated, with selections that pair naturally and seamlessly with the menu, enhancing rather than overpowering the food. From the cozy atmosphere to the food, wine, and heartfelt hospitality, Gyeokk is a wonderful choice for anyone looking for an intimate, story-driven wine dining experience in Seoul.
