Recently, I had a fantastic dining experience at Gyu‑Kaku, the Japanese yakiniku restaurant located in Fortune City One, Sha Tin. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the thoughtful interior and pleasant dining atmosphere. The restaurant features neatly arranged wooden tables paired with soft booth seating, creating a relaxed, casual space perfect for enjoying a laid‑back grilled‑meat meal. I ordered their popular set meal, which came with an appealing spread of dishes. The marinated mixed platter of beef, pork and chicken was the star of the meal. Every cut was nicely seasoned, tender and full‑flavoured. Grilling the meat right at the table was truly an enjoyable experience. Apart from grilled meats, there was a nice variety of complementary food. Warm miso soup with seaweed and spring onion offered a soothing start. Side dishes included crisp seasoned cabbage and well‑flavoured spinach, bringing refreshing light flavours to balance the rich barbecue. The seaweed soft‑boiled‑egg rice bowl also stood out, with creamy runny yolk mixing beautifully with fluffy rice and savoury seaweed. Additional seafood such as sliced octopus added more delightful variety to the feast. The menu provides flexible set options, from value‑for‑money lunch sets to larger sharing feasts ideal for groups, giving diners plenty of choices to fit different needs. Staff worked efficiently, keeping the dining area tidy and quietly checking whether everything was fine without being overly intrusive. Overall, this visit exceeded my expectations. The food quality was consistent, portions were reasonable and the environment was clean and comfortable. Whether you plan a casual solo treat or a relaxed gathering with friends, this branch of Gyu‑Kaku is a brilliant pick. I left feeling full and happy, and I have already looked forward to coming back to try more of their delicious yakiniku offerings soon.
