I ordered a shake through Grab from this Häagen-Dazs location. The restaurant placed loose dry ice directly inside the plastic delivery bag alongside the shake. It was not inside a protective pouch, insulated container, or labeled in any way. I had no idea there was dry ice in the bag. When I brought the order home, I briefly set the bag on my wooden dining table for less than a minute. The dry ice permanently damaged the finish of my table. Had I reached into the bag or picked up the dry ice with my bare hand, I could have suffered a serious cold burn. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of customer service. I contacted both Häagen-Dazs and Grab, explained what happened, and provided photos of the damage. Neither company even responded. Accidents happen, but placing loose, unmarked dry ice directly into a customer’s bag is unsafe and avoidable. Ignoring a legitimate safety and property damage complaint is even more disappointing. I hope this location changes its packaging procedures before someone is injured.
