Miracle at Harry's Tampines. That was how I viewed my experience for their 1 April 2026 outrageous promotion of fish and chips for a dollar (++ yet to include) for thirty customers per outlet. I arrived sufficiently on time and managed to get into position which I believed was 20. Some time later a green shirt uncle arrived and started counting the number of people and proclaimed himself as the 28th person. Green man took upon himself to manage the queue. I believed he obtained a piece of paper from a security guard and wrote the queue numbers. Next, he went to distribute the queue numbers. A guy behind me laughed at green man's actions, expressing doubts that it would work. On a side note this guy himself was quite a high profile queue cutter, part of a team of about four to five people who often helped one another to cut queue. Fortunately that day, he came down with his comrades and didn't do any queue cutting. At the front of the queue, green man encountered a group of seniors which I later learned that they wanted to insert five more people but was rejected by the green man. Later another lady, part of a twin sisters, refused to take part in the arrangement. This lady was making a lot of phone calls earlier, likely trying to get more people to come. Green man told her she would not be able to get the food later if she didn't join the scheme. All this while, green man was able to carry out his actions in a cordial manner without raising temper or causing altercation. He also told the people that his actions were supported by the security guard. An auntie in front of me was expressing her indignation as she said she was originally number 15 but then her number had become 21. The kind green man consoled her by stroking her arms. At 11 am plus a Harry's Chinese staff with a pony tail arrived to unlock the door. He had a strong stench of cigarette smell. I told him of the queue arrangements but he ignored me and focused on getting into the place. I was thinking maybe he was not a customer service front man. Later an Indian male staff appeared and green shirt told him of the arrangement. Indian staff was appreciative of the actions of the green shirt. We were allowed into the restaurant in an orderly organized manner, spearheaded by the indian man. The food was served quite promptly, aided by both indian and Chinese staff. It was delicious, albeit quantity was a bit small, I was only sixty percent full. It was only slightly after 12 pm when I was finishing my food. The whole event was conducted well ahead of schedule. Green man sat at the bar position and continued to give advice to people who went to the bar to get water, telling them not to take too much as it could spill and create trouble for the staff. A long red hair guy was expressing his disdain as he was eating, insulting the green shirt man for acting like a staff. This was after he collected water. Red haired was so ungrateful, if not for the actions of the green shirt, he wouldn't be able to get his food as he was the 30 person. This visit was really an happy one. Because of the actions of the green man, who although was safeguarding his own position, helped the people at the back of the queue, who ran the risk of losing their poisition due to queue cutters. In fact my own position would be at risk if the seniors allowed five more people to cut in. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: SGD 1–10 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Stanley and Joei were excellent servers. Fast in responding to our need. Food came hot and delicious. The new menu is definitely a good change. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SGD 100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Prawn & Seaweed Aglio Olio
