Total Disappointment at Hooters Ginza! We visited on a just past 5p.m. The place was not yet busy. The welcome was fairly okay, but the hostess who guided us to the table looked tired and lacked the charm that Hooters is famous for. The table was wet, and since I was wearing an expensive leather jacket, I asked her to dry the table. Instead of wiping it, she offered to move us to another table — with a rather negative expression. The food was below average, but the deformed quesadilla was a complete disaster. The tortilla looked almost deep-fried on top from excessive oil, while the base had turned soggy like batter due to too much sauce. It was nowhere close to what was shown in the image. When I asked the staff about it, she just said, “That’s how quesadillas are.” I’ll let you judge from the attached photo — it was honestly the worst Mexican dish I’ve ever had. All alcoholic beverages start at around ¥950, and the food isn’t cheap either. But the quality, service, and attitude don’t justify the price. Unless you’re there just for the brand name, there’s no real reason to dine here. The fact that you can dine here on a Friday night without a prior reservation says a lot about their popularity. Ginza Corridor Street has hundreds of more affordable eateries and bars that offer far better service and greater value. We also noticed that almost all of the kitchen staff seemed to be South Asian — probably from Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. While there’s nothing wrong with that, it clearly showed they had little understanding of authentic Mexican or American-style food. It felt like the Hooters concept has been completely lost in translation. I used to be a Hooters fan after great experiences at their Chicago and NYC locations years ago. Unfortunately, Hooters Japan is nowhere close — neither in quality of hossteses, service, food, nor atmosphere. No wonder the Roppongi branch had to close. If Hooters management truly cares about its brand, they need to fix this place urgently or consider shutting it down for good.
