Hotel Indigo Phuket Patongに宿泊。インディゴは4つ星ホテルのイメージですがここは5つ星ホテルの表記。どちらが正解なのかはさておきお部屋はジュニアスイートルーム。広い方のジュニアスイートルームは一階にありテラス部が広いくらいで虫が気になるならとこちらの部屋になりました。スイートルームもあり何故かこちらの部屋をおすすめされましたが同じフロアにジムもあるし便利で良かったです。このホテルはPhuketということでムエタイを意識したデザインになっています。お部屋もインディゴらしくオシャレで素晴らしいのですが実用的でない点がいくつかあり気になりました。因みにトイレにはEnjoyのネオンがありトイレで何を楽しむのかとツッコミを入れたくなるくらい笑メイン通り沿いに面しているので色々なお店が周りにあり IHGの同じグループのホリデイインも近くにあったりビーチまでも数分で歩いていける便利な場所にホテルはあります。プールが下から(上からも)見えるようになっています。上に乗るのに少し抵抗はありましたが私も乗ってみました。プールはL字で割と広い作りになっていてジャグジーもあります。ジムもL字になっていて2方面の景色を楽しみながら運動できました。ムエタイのリングもあるのでそちらも活用可能です。ジム内にあるお手洗いにはサウナもあるので良い汗を流すのも良いでしょう。

パトンビーチでカウントダウンを迎える為、こちらに3泊宿泊しました。家族4人で2部屋を予約しましたが、隣同士の部屋にしていただき、なんと室内で行き来できるコネクティング仕様になっています。朝食も品数がありクオリティーも高く、毎日メニューが少しずつ変わります。バングラ通りやパトンビーチまで徒歩ですぐという便利な立地なのに、少し離れているため夜は静かで快適に過ごせました。ホテルの下にはコンビニもあります。ホテルのニューイヤーズイベントも素敵で、ガラディナーも豪華でとても賑わっている様子でした。イベントついてあまり事前情報がなかったので違う店を予約したのですが、大晦日に宿泊される際はこちらのガラディナーに参加されるのをおすすめします。ホテルのスタッフの方も皆さんフレンドリーで、ぜひまた泊まりたいホテルです。

My family and I are currently staying at Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong by IHG and this experience has been deeply disappointing and below the standard expected of a global hotel brand. Before booking, we carefully reviewed the hotel’s online listings, photos and descriptions. Nowhere is it clearly stated that the hotel follows a deliberately dark, nightlife-driven room concept. Upon arrival, we discovered that the rooms are designed with very low lighting, dark finishes and prominent neon elements including neon lighting in the bathroom intended to reflect Phuket nightlife or a Thai/kickboxing theme. While this aesthetic may appeal to a very specific audience, it is entirely unsuitable for families. The lighting is poor at night, impractical and creates an atmosphere that feels more aligned with adult nightlife venues than a family hotel. The overall effect is uncomfortable, artificial and in my opinion, cheap rather than premium. What makes this particularly misleading is the contrast between the hotel’s public areas and the rooms. The entrance and reception area are bright, professional, modern and give the impression of a refined, five-star property. However, once inside the room, the atmosphere shifts completely. The room experience does not match the expectations set by the lobby and this inconsistency should be clearly disclosed to guests before booking. After raising our concerns, the duty manager, Mr. Oscar arranged a room change. Unfortunately, the second room was identical, confirming that this is a property-wide design choice. When we requested further assistance or a refund, we were told that no solution could be offered solely because the booking was made through Booking.com. Although the room change was completed, the overall response from management was dismissive and lacked empathy. There was no attempt at service recovery, no escalation and no flexibility shown toward a family clearly unhappy with their stay. The message was effectively: this is the hotel’s theme and if you are dissatisfied, nothing further will be done. As an IHG Rewards loyalty customer, this treatment was particularly disappointing. When traveling internationally, guests expect transparency, consistency and professional care from a global hotel group. This experience has seriously undermined my confidence in Hotel Indigo and the IHG brand more broadly. Key Points for Future Guests: • The hotel’s dark, neon, nightlife-style room design is not clearly disclosed online • Rooms are uncomfortably dim, especially at night • Neon bathroom lighting and overall ambience feel adult-oriented rather than family-friendly • Public areas and reception do not reflect the actual room experience • Management offered no meaningful resolution • Loyalty status did not influence service or outcome Hotels are free to choose their identity and design. Guests deserve honest disclosure and respectful service. Unfortunately, this property delivered neither. I would strongly advise families, mature travelers and anyone seeking a calm or comfortable stay to reconsider before booking.
