Was introduced to this old school coffeeshop, reminiscent of times back in the 60s. During lunch’s it was only 1 dish - fishball noodles The noodles were springy and coated with a sambal chilli sauce that hits just right. The accompanying soup was tasty and not overly salty, making it a great finisher to cut through the sambal. Definitely worth a check out if in the area. Meal type: Lunch Recommended dishes: Signature Ah Guan Fishball Noodles Dry

Disclaimer: my dining experience may vary from yours. Breakfast dated 30 April 2026. Ordered a mee pok dry $5. This is a no-frill place to have a decent bowl of noodles and the taste was very old school. Ingredients were generic and noodles quality was small for my appetite. The soup tasted nice. This eatery is like time stood still in 80s. The marble dining table is an antique piece and the drink chiller was an antique piece also. Noodles and drinks were sold here in the morning by elderly ladies. I recommend to visit this eatery while it is available. Price per person: SGD 1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

This was an unexpected jewel in the rough. One of those great little discoveries you didn't even know to look for. On one of the heritage walks in Singapore, it recommended Hua Bee restaurant as one of the oldest coffee shops that still serves coffee with a pad of butter in it for flavor. Since I've enjoyed cream and sugar in my coffee but never butter, I thought I'd try it. Wow. Just wow. It was so creamy and sweet, it was almost like having a bit of ice cream in it. I even used the spoon to scrape up every last delicious drop!
