I was trying to determine if this is a restaurant, a zoo or a café, a playground, an event venue. . etc . . To sum it right at the start, though more than a tatter this place is, they have got a shiny new pink pony, and the food is good. The wooden lodge where we dined was lovely and full of antiquity. Beyond the restaurant lies her backyard. It is reputed that wild monkeys descend on the place and are known to snatch things from the patrons. A long long time ago, this used to be monkey territory before human beings encroached. There is a zoo-like thing going on as there are sections of cordoned-off areas where we found rabbits, tortoises, parrots, chickens which broke out of their cages, and the cow trying to eat the chicken. There is a playground next to a pond. Strange it is that what looks like construction scaffolding made part of the playthings. Well, this place is supposed to be kids friendly, but there were more than a comfortable number of sharp things we found lying around. Many parts here and there lay in ruins like it can fall apart anytime. There were also sections which looked like renovations were abandoned. It is confusing the experience here. I left the place puzzled trying to outline what Hungry Monkey is trying to achieve. But if you come for the seclusion and the rustic nature of it, you will then love it. Nice place for a coffee or a meal, and then be mystified. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿100–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
