The owner is one of Korea’s early drip coffee enthusiasts, someone who has clearly spent years refining his craft. He sources high-quality beans through auctions and roasts them himself with great care. The result is a cup that often feels more nuanced and expressive than many specialty cafés—layered flavors, clean structure, and a surprising range of aromas. The space is small and modest, but consistently comforting. It’s the kind of place you return to without much thought. Located in front of a quiet elementary school, the café is often filled with the gentle scent of roasting coffee. Inside, Frédéric Chopin’s Preludes and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2 play softly, while the distant sounds of children drift in from outside. The contrast is subtle, but it lingers. The owner—well-dressed and composed—explains each coffee in a calm, baritone voice. And when you finally take a sip of the warm cup, there’s a brief sense of stepping away from everything else. It’s hard to go wrong with any coffee here. The house-made lemonade, using his own preserved lemons, is excellent, and the peanuts roasted in the coffee roaster have a deep, nutty flavor that’s worth trying.
