A comforting stop at Hyunsunine Tteokbokki with a cozy, easygoing feel that made the meal even better. The portions were generous, and it’s easy to see why this place has built a reputation over the years. I liked the relaxed atmosphere and would happily come back when I’m in the area.

Amazing Sweet & Spicy Tteokbokki in Yongsan! This legendary spot is a must-visit for authentic Korean street food. I highly recommend the Table-side Cooked Tteokbokki (즉석떡볶이) Set! The sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The set comes fully loaded with chewy rice cakes, fish cakes, ramen, and noodles. Once it boils down, dipping the crispy fried dumplings and seaweed rice balls into the rich sauce is pure heaven. You can also grab extra crispy fried crumbs from the self-serve bar to add a nice crunch. When the spice kicks in, the icy Orange Slush is an absolute lifesaver to cool your mouth. Finally, you must save room for the Corn & Kimchi Fried Rice at the end—letting it crisp up on the bottom of the pan is the absolute highlight of the meal! Quick Tips: Avoid the Wait: There’s almost always a line even during off-peak hours. Use the Catch Table app to line up remotely before you arrive! How to Find It: It’s tucked away in a small alley near Sinyongsan Station (Exit 5). If you get lost, just look up and follow their iconic giant red chimney straight to the entrance.
