A hidden gem in Chiang Mai for true Hong Kong flavors This is my fourth trip to Chiang Mai — and I haven’t been back to Hong Kong in almost 3 years. I came across this spot by accident, and it honestly hit me with a wave of nostalgia. From the way they handle ingredients to the timing and efficiency in the kitchen, everything here screams proper Hong Kong style — nothing overdone, just quietly precise. Pork Chop Bun This is the real deal. The pork chop is juicy with a satisfying chew, paired with just the right amount of sautéed onions. But what blew me away? Flip the bun and you’ll see a thick layer of golden melted butter soaked into the base — rich, fragrant, and full of that unmistakable HK cha chaan teng soul. The bun itself has that crisp-outside, soft-inside texture — exactly how a 豬仔包 should be. Grilled Chicken Rice with Cheese Every grain of rice is well separated, not soggy — which tells you they care about detail. The cheese on top is torched just right, adding a layer of richness without overwhelming the dish. It’s comfort food, but done with discipline. Wonton Soup Simple, clean, classic. The broth is clear but flavorful, and the wontons are nicely folded — thin skin with juicy filling. Not too salty, not too fancy — just right. Even the small things — like the bowls, plates, and how they present dishes — all reflect that familiar Hong Kong mindset: no shortcuts, no gimmicks, just solid, honest food. If you’re from HK or just love the city’s food culture, this place will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a quiet corner of Kowloon — but in Chiang Mai. Will definitely be coming back.
