Now i have always depended on Ippudo for a hearty bowl of ramen done right and their outlet at Star Vista is no different. Thankfully even at 12.30pm at the peak of lunch hour we got a corner table instantly without waiting. Their lunch sets represented incredible value actually. The ramen bowl might look deceptively small, but trust me the depth will definitely leave your belly filled. Anyway, at $16 per set, you get to pick 3 types of ramen, i got the spicy variant, picked the doneness of my noodles with a slice of charsiu plus a drink and a side dish of chicken karrage. Now the ramen was on point, noodles were perfectly cooked, the spicy broth was equally tasty, the charsiu was tender and had good bite. The karrage was good too, appreciated that they gave a slice of lemon which provided the perfect balance to the deep fried crunchy chicken. Impressive as always and definitely enjoyed my lunch! Food arrived shortly after placing the order despite the place being crowded. I like the way that I am able to choose the "doneness" of my ramen ranging from soft to very hard for the Al Dante bite. The serving size for the ramen is between slightly small and normal. Probably it is tasty hence I didn't seem to get enough of it. With the sides (chicken karaage or takoyaki) and drinks, one will be decently satied. It was packed during lunch. Ordered the Ramen set with the chicken karage. It’s tender and juicy, fresh from frying. When the Akamaru Shinaji Noodle bowl arrived, it smells delicious. It was freshly made, with the tasty chashu, perfectly cooked noodles and a deep umami soup base. Love it.
