I had difficulty as a foreigner reading the menu and told the waiter I just wanted a small bottle of sake to share with my friend. The waiter presented me with two choices. I did not ask for the price, and while I could have prevented what happened by not assuming 'standard' prices, I feel it was extremely irresponsible for the waiter to present me what came out to be a KRW 220,000, or $150 bottle of sake, without stating the price up front. He spoke English perfectly well, and it felt very deceptive. This was an act of scamming, in my opinion. I am sad that me and my friend were taken advantage of.
