Imelda bunsik is one of those cozy, hole in the wall locations slightly away from the bustle of Myeongdong. They are located on the 3rd floor of Cheonggae/Daelim plaza above a bunch of light stores, PCB boards, and arcade machines. They serve 'western/bunsik' fare, which means stuff like hamburger steak, tteokbokki, and a variety of pasta with an asian twist. The interior is very cozy/homey, although it may be a bit small if you are a large person. The servers were friendly even though there are no English menus. The menus were google translatable, and there are cute pictures next to the items which make understanding easier. The food was above average compared to other western/bunsik restaurants. We got the mentaiko pasta which was garlicky, toasty and creamy with a hint of pepper and the shishito peppers added a little bit of smokey flavor with the mentaiko popping in your mouth. We also got the kimchi tonkatsu nabe, which was a winter exclusive menu - it was warm and slightly sweet/sour and the tonkatsu topped with bonito made a great combination. There is a self serve stand for korean pickles and soy sauce for the tempura. If you are in the Jongro/Cheonggaecheon area, it's worth a visit here!
