I visited them once when they were 3 months in operation and the coffee was meh. I would have given a 2.5 rating then. I revisited them today and it improved greatly. The extraction is stronger and blends in smoother with the milk. This is when I’m happy to write a review. I wonder if it’s the Pokémon setup helped them level up Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Impulse Coffee is a hidden gem in the CBD, opened by the same owner behind Teapulse. It’s literally tucked away in a lift lobby just behind Teapulse and Beigelhaus, so it’s very easy to miss. Despite the discreet location, the space itself is bright, warm, and welcoming. I had the Iced White ($6.50) which comes with a double shot, and it quickly became one of my favourites. The coffee is bold and strong, exactly the kind of caffeine kick I want in the morning. The beans lean towards a nuttier, darker roast profile, which suits my preference perfectly. Smooth, punchy, and very satisfying. Definitely one of my go-to spots for a proper coffee fix in the CBD. For more food reviews, check out @hangry.potatoo on instagram. Price per person: $1–10
