I had JJ’s American Diner in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, right outside Camp Humphreys, and this spot is easily one of my favorites out here. It’s in the Anjeong-ri area, just a short walk from the Humphreys walk-in gate, so it’s super convenient when I’m craving something that tastes like home. I got the oxtail double meat with yellow rice and mac and cheese, and honestly, those oxtails might be some of the best I’ve had anywhere, even compared to places back in the States. The food came out flavorful, filling, and cooked with care. The mac and cheese hit the spot too, and the yellow rice went perfectly with everything. The vibe inside is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff has always been cool and friendly. JJ’s has definitely become a staple for me during my time in Korea. I go weekly, and the only reason I’m not there more is because I’m trying to show a little restraint. Great atmosphere, great people, and even better food. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₩50,000–60,000

We’ve ordered breakfast here a few times and finally decided to try dinner and it was delicious. My wife had the honey jerk lamb chops with jollof rice and I ordered the blackened salmon with pasta. The lamb chops were tender with the perfect sweet and spicy kick, and the salmon was cooked perfectly and spot on with flavor.
