If you want authentic seafood with (in my opinion) something extra on top. This is it. This could me my fave meal ever in Southern thailand. Ive been here a few years. Warning, they do spice it up but thats how i like it. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Just amazing food! We had a grouper, crabs and fish cake. All was very fresh, tasty and well cooked. It was our best fish since our arrival in Thailand. The place is above the water. You are asked to remove your shoes at the entrance. We had a low table with our feet hanging over the water. The place is popular with Thai tourists. We were the only westerners. Highly recommended Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: No. Fish and seafood only

Clearly this is the most popular restaurant on the island and we had locals recommended it to us a couple of times. Sadly we had serious issue with the guy sitting at the front (the owner?)who unexpectedly started questioning why I’m not Thai(he believes I should have been one) and I should speak Thai. He then started a speech about everyone should be speaking Thai in Thailand. I have to note that we ordered everything in Thai with our best effort, which I don’t think many tourists have this level. He also questioned where I’m from, which I actually replied in Thai. He then started correcting my husband’s every single Thai word’s pronunciation which was extremely rude. What made this more surprising is that throughout the rest of Ko Libong, we’ve had only warm and encouraging interactions with locals, especially when trying to speak Thai. Reading all other reviews I don’t think he has problem with general tourists or English(there’s English on the menu) my only remaining guess is that he has an issue with my ethnicity and that triggered his ultra nationalism attitude. It’s a shame that even in this peaceful corner of the world and amazingly lovely community someone like this exists, what a shame it is. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
