I came back to this restaurant after many years, and this time we were seated in a private room, which made the dining experience more comfortable and exclusive. We chose the NT$2,800 per person menu, but honestly, I felt the overall food quality and quantity should have justified the price a little better. In my view, it leaned slightly expensive, especially since there were no particularly premium seafood or seasonal ingredients featured throughout the meal. The menu consisted of eight courses including dessert, yet surprisingly, I still felt somewhat hungry after the dinner. For this price point, I would have expected a more satisfying progression of dishes and a stronger sense of value. One of my biggest disappointments was the fish course. A huge piece of fish which looked more like snapper prepared in a Chinese-style cooking method was served. While the portion was generous, it did not feel refined nor particularly aligned with what I personally expect from a Japanese dining experience. I would much rather have seen a beautifully executed seasonal salt-grilled fish, which would have felt more authentic and elegant. The grilled pork dish was another letdown. The pork was rather hard and chewy, lacking the tenderness and richness I normally associate with Iberico pork. Perhaps a fattier and more tender cut should have been selected to improve both texture and flavour. On a more positive note, the sashimi quality was decent, and I especially enjoyed the crab meat paired with uni, which delivered a pleasant balance of sweetness and creaminess. Another unique dish was the fried fish wrapped with seaweed something I personally enjoyed as I have always liked the flavour and texture combination that seaweed adds to any ingredients. The sushi itself was well executed, but we were only served two pieces, which felt extremely underwhelming considering the overall menu price. At this level, I would have expected at least five to six pieces to properly complete the Japanese dining experience. The giant clam soup was light and refreshing, though not particularly memorable. Dessert featured melon sourced from Taiwan rather than Japan. While still juicy, it lacked the sweetness and fragrance typically associated with premium Japanese melons. Since some ingredients were already locally sourced from Taiwan, I had hoped the restaurant would either provide more premium selections elsewhere or offer better overall value considering ingredient costs may be lower compared to imported Japanese produce. The sake selection was decent, though pricing was on the higher side as well. Overall, the meal had a few enjoyable moments and some well-executed dishes, but for the price paid, I expected a more refined ingredient selection, better balance in the menu, and a more satisfying portion overall. It was a pleasant revisit, but not quite as memorable as I had hoped after returning many years later. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $2,000+ Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

This is a low-key, long-established Japanese restaurant with fresh, high-quality ingredients! The prices are reasonable, and reservations are usually required. We had the business lunch this time, and it was incredibly good value for money – highly recommended! Every dish was presented perfectly, making our mouths water. The staff were professional and carefully explained the order of the meal; even the wasabi was of high quality. The taro soup for dessert was also delicious. I'll definitely come back next time to try the dinner set menu. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
