We came here for the “East Meets West International Buffet & The Return of Nasi Padang.” The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of Wyndham Singapore Hotel. However, we had some difficulty finding it. There was no directory at the lift lobby, and even after exiting the lift, the restaurant entrance wasn’t clearly labeled. For a 5-star hotel, this felt like a basic oversight in terms of wayfinding and customer experience. The online buffet menu - or rather, menus - was quite confusing. There’s a lot of information, including rotating dishes and Menu A to E, but it’s not clear which menu is being served on any given day. This means you won’t know what you’re actually getting until you arrive, which can be disappointing if you were looking forward to specific dishes. After going through the menu in detail, we believe we were served Menu E, although we still noticed some items missing. It would be helpful if the restaurant could either simplify the menu, reduce the rotations, or inform diners in advance which menu will be available on the day of their reservation. Managing expectations makes a big difference to the overall dining experience. Another point worth noting is the payment process. While paying before entry is fine, they only started processing payments exactly at opening time, even though diners were already waiting outside. It would have been more efficient to begin processing payments earlier to reduce waiting time. Instead, the staff at the host/payment counter appeared to be idle while simply informing guests of the opening time, which added to the frustration. Now, on to the food. Some highlights for us included the fried fish, beef cheeks, and fried chicken. The seafood on ice was fresh, and I was pleasantly surprised by the wide range of condiments available - especially the ikan bilis, fried silverfish, and sambal chili, which were all very enjoyable. That said, there were a few misses. The mutton satay was quite tough and difficult to chew. The pasta with laksa sauce felt like it was lacking depth - perhaps some ground laksa leaves could have enhanced the flavour. The tea also seemed over-steeped, making it too dark and overly bitter. As for the desserts, they were very underwhelming. All in all, it was just a pleasant meal. However, without the 1-for-1 promotion, we probably wouldn’t find it worthwhile to pay S$78++ per person for this buffet. And, there’s surcharge for weekends as well which we were caught off guard. Sharing Be my Valentine ! It’s been a while since we celebrated this special 14th Feb day Book a reservation via Eatigo app on our buffet spread that include a Yusheng, holds double meaning of joy Arrived near punctually to the Hotel Wyndham at Coleman Street, alighted wife 1st and she heads to 5th level for our restaurant : Jespe Ushered into a couple table and after parking at B2 basement and walked in and saw wife’s table So, I asked if the ambience befitting today’s Valentine’s Day, she just smiled and soon the waiter poured us champagne and we helped ourselves to the Buffet spread Returning to table and saw a Yusheng on our table and as usual, we Lohei there Enjoying our spread of varieties from cold dish seafood to warm dishes Soon after, Chef Ganesan Ashok : Chef de Cuisine, making his rounds and gathered his feedback and shared some pointers and immediately taken action by sending another plate of YuSheng for our savouring as earlier there wasn’t any condiment that caught us by surprises ! The little gestures made a world of difference in customers’ cuisine experiences and really got us talking and understand why Chef Ganesan does it as he was just less than a week old in to his new job and wanted real customers feedback so that he can improve His background : Diplomatic Chef for some years till recent he left for current role; ex-JW Marriot & Shangrila and determined to shine in his current job Overall dining experiences were good with local and international cuisine and varieties in line with theme + CNY too ! Highly recommended to come to savoury the goodness of its Buffet spread via Eatigo app during festivities period & offering too ! Are U Hungry ?
