Really enjoyed the creamy salted egg chicken, surprised I got a hard-boiled egg instead of a sunny side-up. But it works! And healthier, I guess :) Very rich sauce, with a proper kick from the chili. Ended up sweating a bit from the chilis Owner is very friendly which is a plus also! It's slightly at the back corner, so I was struggling to look for the place. Glad I found it Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Got scammed, paid $4 for extra meat Came out to be the same as my frens’ who paid $2 for extra meat. Total $12 spent. Prolly can get something better else where, dont bother Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Heard about this legendary salted egg chicken for ages, and have been wanting to try it. Happened to be at Tanjong pagar mrt on a Saturday and decided to give it a try. Most of the shops at tanjong pagar xchange are closed on the weekends but fortunately (or unfortunately) Jia Yuen eating house is half open (i guess?). Not all the lights are switched on and there is only 1 staff mending the shop. He took my order, collected the money and went to make the food. The food was ready for collection within 5 minutes??!??!?!? I'm not sure if he even fired up the wok. And after tasting the food, i am pretty sure he just kinda assembled the food together. the chicken must have been deep fried pretty long ago, it was dry, chewy, and coated in a thick batter and tasted terrible. There is not much of the salted egg flavor in the gravy too. I don't know if its because i went on a saturday or this is just the standard they are now. Well just very disappointed.
