It took us a while to look beyond the obvious places (beach restaurants, mainly) and try Jip Restaurant. It absolutely didn’t disappoint. If you go for the beach vibe, ok, not here. If you go for super yummy Thai food (disclaimer: I’m not Thai, but I think over the years I learnt about the differences between “Thai for tourists” and “Authentic Thai”) then look no further. We had fish cakes, red curry with duck, and Pad Kaprao Beef, absolutely delicious and so much better than what is served under the very same names at other places around that we tried. Plus, the owners are very lovely, and the atmosphere both inside and on the terrace at the back is really nice. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿400–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

walked in and we were very pleasantly surprised, the owner went out of her way to make us feel at home and recommended great dishes from a wide selection of Thai cuisine. Tom Kha soup and green papaya salad were the two winning dishes. highly recommended for island vacationers. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
