Despite all the hype these are one of the not so good tarts and definitely not worth the price. The pastry did not taste or smell fresh has taste of one that had been baked long time ago. The pineapple filling I must admit is generous however very sure it was mixed with jam and not 100% fresh pineapple. I love pineapple tarts and these are not worth the calories... Meal type: Other Price per person: $30–40 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

A tub of 28 pieces pineapple tarts for $32 is pricey but I still love these yummy pineapple tarts from Joyus Pastries the MOST for the past 10 years or more! Buttery, aromatic tart base with not overly sweet pineapple jam Food: 5

I bought some "caramelised" pineapple tarts early this year in Jan 2025 for CNY and they costed $30+!! This is by far the most expensive pineapple tarts I have purchased so I have to agree with most here that the goodies (even other CNY goodies like cashew nut and almond cookies are also very expensive) have increased price exponentially. Even with inflation and cost of raw materials going up etc, good quality pineapple tarts should not be costing this much. Also the lady tried to upsell me the "caramelised" aka burnt tarts because the normal ones were sold out, saying they are just as highly sought after as the normal ones so did not give me a discount. Overall while it's nice, its not that amazing and also becomes very hard over time. So it's quite disappointing and lacklustre. I'm not buying from them again coz they cost such a fortune and don't taste that extraordinary. There's an old school shop in Toa Payoh which sells really delicious nyonya style pineapple tarts (and even lets me try them on the spot) which costs only 1/3 the price of Joyous Pastries.
