I finally got to buy from this bakery. The yam tarts are soooo delicious and not overly sweet! The peanut mochi was soooo soft, strawberry tarts made with real strawberries, Curry puff filling is tasty and not oily and my son loves the madeleines. Uncle and auntie were both very nice. Definitely a hidden gem! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Yam Paste Tart ORH Nee, ORH Nee Tart, Peanut Mochi with Yam Paste, Apple Crumble Tart, Strawberry Mochi Cheese Tart

My colleague first brought this establishment to my attention several weeks ago, having purchased a selection of pastries and brought them to our workplace. The quality of the pastry was universally praised by our team, with particular commendation for its light, flaky texture and delicate flavour profile. Following this introduction, I had been eager to visit the premises for some time. On this occasion, Kitty and I were undertaking the crowd task walking trail at Kampung Glam and passed by Beach Road, providing an ideal opportunity to visit the store. Upon arrival, we observed that the establishment was not a cafe, as I had initially anticipated, but rather a modest, traditional bakery shop. The store is operated by a woman and a man, likely a family run business. They offer a selection of five tart varieties, alongside other baked goods: taro, Portuguese, cheese, avocado, and strawberry. The total cost for the tarts came to eight Singapore dollars, representing excellent value for money. Having sampled all varieties, we found each to be well prepared, with consistently light and flaky pastry casing. We ranked our preferences in the following order: 1. Taro Tart – the filling was smooth and creamy with a well balanced flavour profile 2. Portuguese Tart – rich and caramelised with a perfectly crisp base 3. Cheese Tart – indulgent and creamy with balanced richness 4. Avocado Tart – fresh and subtle with a pleasant, mild taste 5. Strawberry Tart – placed last as the filling resembled strawberry jam and the flavour was overly intense The staff were courteous and service was efficient, with orders prepared promptly despite moderate foot traffic during our visit. We would certainly recommend this establishment to those in the vicinity, and intend to return to purchase further items in future. Only for take away only Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

June Bakery @ The Plaza The Orh Nee Tart is truly exceptional, resembling a small serving of the classic Orh Nee (yam paste) dessert. It strikes the perfect balance of sweetness, maintaining a soft and creamy texture. The buttery, flavorful tart crust complements the filling wonderfully. Undoubtedly a one-of-a-kind tart that pleasantly surprised me. However, their Portuguese tart, unfortunately, falls a bit short in comparison to their other offerings.
