A hidden gem tucked away on the 2nd floor in Soi Somkid. The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, perfect for hanging out with friends in the heart of the city. The food is incredibly fresh and packed with creative flavors —my FAV is maguro yuzu somen... and lots of unique dishes worth trying. Their Japanese wine selection was surprisingly good, and the staff gave great recommendations. Definitely a spot worth coming back to for good food, drinks, and great vibes. This Japanese fusion restaurant is located in Soi Somkid on the second floor of a renovated old house. The space has gone through several restaurant concepts over the years, but its location remains one of its biggest advantages—right in the heart of the Chidlom district. It’s one of those restaurants with a great atmosphere and consistently strong crowds. Even on a Sunday like today, the place was still packed. The vibe leans young and social, mostly small groups of two to four people. Many of the dishes are highly creative, blending Japanese and European influences. One example is the toast topped with maguro. At first glance, the style almost feels Spanish-inspired. Another standout is the udon tossed in rich mentaiko sauce. The texture is creamy, savory, and uniquely satisfying. Visually, it resembles spaghetti, but the flavor is far richer and more indulgent. This dish easily gets an AAA rating. We tried KIMI NOMU and felt a bit disappointed overall. The food is quite expensive for the portion size, and the flavors are very average compared to other restaurants in the same category. Many dishes were on the salty side, which made them less enjoyable. The standout point was the service — the staff were attentive and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. However, the food itself was quite ordinary, and we wouldn’t return. A nice setting, good service, but the dishes didn’t live up to expectations.
