The food is great here, though it could use a bit more variety, especially for the rice options. It is self-service. The manager (I think) is very friendly and told us that they do not have any waiters because they want to reduce service costs, as service tax is quite expensive, so customers—mostly Indonesian students, according to the manager—can afford it. Aside from the lack of variety, the only downside of this place is that it is quite cramped, especially for large groups, so I would recommend a maximum of four people per group. Overall, it is definitely worth trying. You can also try their sister shop, Ono Ramen, if you want to taste the Indonesian version of ramen. Stumbled across this little gem near Masjid Sultan while looking for something comforting and halal and Kulon delivered. They only serve one main dish, but it’s all you need: Bakmi Komplit. Sweet soy chicken, beef balls, braised egg, crispy fried wonton skin, and bok choy. The flavors hit that nostalgic sweet-savory spot, like a homemade bowl from back home. Small space, cozy vibes, fast service. Perfect for solo travelers or anyone craving Indonesian-style noodles.
