Absolutely fantastic experience at Kung Restaurant! The food was incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully prepared. We ordered the Tom Yam Goong, Khao Pad, and a whole fish, and every dish was outstanding. The service was just as impressive. Warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, the host made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. To top it all off, the prices were very reasonable for the quality we received. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic, delicious seafood and a great atmosphere! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: ฿1–200

If you are looking for authentic, fresh seafood at Saladan Pier in Koh Lanta, you absolutely have to visit KUNG Restaurant. It’s family-owned and operated by the kindest people who truly make you feel like a friend from the moment you walk in. We loved their emphasis on locally sourced seafood and traditional Thai flavors. It’s so much fun to see the “fresh catch” of the day on display! We tried the mackerel (pictured, though I was enjoying it so much I forgot to snap a photo before digging in!), and it was perfectly prepared. We also tried the squid, and I am so glad we did. I’ve never had squid prepared like this before - it was seasoned beautifully and incredibly tender. If you are a squid lover, this is a must-try dish! We also ordered the Papaya Salad, which was crunchy and bright - a perfect complement to our Red Curry. Everything was delicious, special, and served with genuine hospitality. It was one of our favorite restaurants we visited on the island, and we can’t wait to return! Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: I am a pescatarian, but I eat a lot of vegetarian dishes. There were lots of options suitable for vegetarians here (curries, rice dishes, papaya salad, fruit plates)
