Long-overdue review. My family and I regularly visit both their branches at Bukit Timah and Goldhill. Having lived in Japan for many years, I can safely say their bread is among the closest to authentic Japanese taste, even better than some “premium” places. The Bukit Timah branch is quieter and more “chill”, making it a great place to hang out or get some work done. The Goldhill branch is busier but usually less crowded after 2pm, so we usually get our takeouts then (prefer this branch as there seems to be more variety). Do not confuse this Kamome Bakery (BT, Goldhill) with the former Asanoya (Kamome Bakery – Simply, Daily) as many customers mistakenly think they are the same shop. My favorites here are the Shio-pan, Red Bean Butter, Salmon Quiche, Sausage Bun, and their occasional specials. Always purchase their spreads and olive oil as well – the latter makes a fantastic Pasta Aglio e Olio. Saw a laughable 1-star review about paper bags and bad service. That’s never been the case for us – staff member Jade always provides exceptional service and is very efficient with operations. Also glad another review addressed that in great detail. Coffee could be improved (also options for oat milk will be nice) but understand there are limitations due to the machine used. All in all, highly recommend this place for some delicious, authentic Japanese bread! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
