Tried the nikujaga, cold somen, ebi carpaccio and kani meshi nabe. I recommend the nikujaga the most, the beef is tender and the sauce is light and flavourful. Ingredients are very fresh. Service was professional. All dishes have a unique twist and don't feel traditionally Japanese. Will return to try other dishes. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Kaya at The Standard is a restaurant with a trendy feel. Located on the second floor of this boutique hotel, the menu is quite vast filled with small plates and large ones. The menu is smartly written in a whimsical style. The food tries to match the whimsical nature of the menu and its descriptions. The disappointment of the evening was the clay pot rice Kani Nabe. It had good texture but it was slightly bland. Otherwise an enjoyable meal which could be better. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
